UPDATE ON PROBATE MOTION HOUR

Probate Court has Motion Hour on Tuesdays at 1pm for attorneys and 2pm for pro se parties.  The filing deadline is the preceding Thursday at 12pm. Any motions filed after shall be scheduled for the following Motion Hour. All movants shall ensure their motions comply with the applicable notice requirements. Virtual attendance is permitted.

EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 5, 2025, ALL motions should be filed for Tuesday motion hour unless your case has a previously scheduled date/hearing.

There are THREE Motion Hours this month:

  • Tuesday, March 3 at 1 PM – The Honorable Judge Yvette De La Guardia Presiding – The filing deadline for this Motion Hour is Thursday, February 26 at 12 PM.
  • Tuesday, March 10 at 1 PM – The Honorable Judge Karen Faulkner Presiding – The filing deadline for this Motion Hour is Thursday, March 5 at 12 PM.
  • Tuesday, March 17 at 1 PM – NO MOTION HOUR- ADMINISTRATIVE TRAINING DAY
  • Tuesday, March 24 at 1 PM – The Honorable Judge Karen Faulkner Presiding – The filing deadline for this Motion Hour is Thursday, March 19 at 12 PM. 

If you plan to file a motion for a hearing request, please be sure to select the Motion Hour that corresponds with the correct judge; each judge schedules hearings according to their own personal calendar. 

Beginning July 10, 2024 at 9am and until otherwise changed or cancelled, Probate Court will have a Rapid Appointment Docket (“RAD”) every Wednesday at 9am. Please see the below forms for Eligibility and a checklist of items that must be completed.
